Jim Geist is executive director of the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee, the Colorado Corn Growers Association, Colorado Corn Research Inc., and Identity Preserved International, Inc. (IPI), where he manages Colorado's corn check-off, investment, research, and promotion program, corn grower membership activities, and value-added and specific-trait market development through IPI.

Mr. Geist was born and raised on a general crop, dairy, and livestock feeding operation in Loveland. He farmed with his family in a general partnership operation, Geist Dairy and Feeding, until 1993, when his father retired. In January of 1993 he took the position of field services director for the Colorado Corn Growers Association. He continued to farm through the fall of 2000.

Mr. Geist is a Class 1 graduate of the Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program. He has served on numerous agricultural advisory boards ranging from technical agricultural education boards and water quality advisory groups to national biotechnology task force groups.
