Ric Jurgens has spent his entire business career with Hy-Vee, serving as a store manager, district manager, regional manager, senior vice president of Hy-Vee and president of Perishable Distributors of Iowa, Ltd., senior vice president and chief administrative officer of Hy-Vee, Inc., and his current capacity as executive vice president and chief administrative officer. He is an Iowa State University graduate with a degree in Industrial Administration.

Mr. Jurgens has served on the boards of the Food Bank of Iowa, the Variety Club of Iowa, Iowa Prison Industries, the Ankeny Industrial Development Corporation, Food Distributors International, the Iowa Games, and the YMCA of Greater Des Moines. He is presently active on the boards of the Perishable Distributors of Iowa, Lomar, Midwest Heritage Bank FSB, Meyocks & Priebe, Hy-Vee/Weitz, and the Des Moines Civic Center. He is a member of the Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council and is vice chair of the Board of Trustees for the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines.

Mr. Jurgens has received the Governor's Volunteerism Award; the Citation of Achievement from Iowa State University's College of Business; and the Heart Award, the Variety Club's highest honor.
