Loren Kruse is the editor-in-chief of Successful Farming magazine, the nation's largest paid circulation farm magazine with a readership of 1.4 million. He also is editor-in-chief of Corn Farmer, Soybean Grower, @g Innovator, and @griculture Online. He joined the staff of Successful Farming in 1976 as senior farm management editor, was promoted to managing editor in 1982, and to his present position in 1988.

Before joining the magazine, Mr. Kruse was the science editor at Oklahoma State University. He holds an MS degree in rural adult education from Oklahoma State University and two BS degrees, in technical journalism and agricultural economics, from Kansas State University, where he was honored as the 1993 Distinguished Agricultural Economics Alumnus and the 1993 K-State Alumni Fellow from the College of Agriculture. Other honors include the 1990 Communicator of the Year Award from the National Corn Growers Association, the 1996 Meritorious Service in Communications Award from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, and an induction into the Honor Court of the Iowa 4-H Foundation in 2000.
